Stampede is HUGE in this town. It is a rodeo and fair on steriods!!! For my fellow San Diegans it is WAAAYYY bigger than the Del Mar Fair. Anyway, the whole city gets into the spirit of Stampede and everyone becomes a cowboy. Evan had a physical therapy appointment the day the hospital had their Stampede parade. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! I am so glad that our therapists told us about it! First we watched the parade from the hill and then ALL of the characters and floats from parade came and partied with the kiddos. My boys got to sit in a helicopter, pet all of the therapy dogs, pet a therapy horse, talk with Ronald McDonald, look at all of the floats, eat a lot of free snacks, and a TON of other stuff. We were there for 2 full hours! At the end of it one of the ladies from the stampede committee came up to Evan and gave him an award for being such a good driver (Evan was tickled!)
Evan saw this school bus and got really excited … I asked him what kind of bus it was and he responds with:
“A smiling bus”
well he was accurate 
They gave the kids real cowboy hats!
Evan kept trying to put this clown nose on all of the therapy animals. I don’t think he realizes that this dog doesn’t have a nose.

Evan and I LOVE the playground at the hospital because it is wheelchair accessible. Simply playing on a playground as he pleases is a luxury that Evan doesn’t take for granted.

I am distraught!!!! The biggest, most massive hail storm Justin or I has EVER seen just ripped through our neighborhood and has done a number on my beloved garden! To give you an idea of the size, all we could see through our windows was horizontal white (just over pea size) balls of ice.
My tomato plants are shredded (it ripped off many stems with 13 blooms and a partially formed tomato). My onion tops are gone, my garlic is toppled, my carrots are laying flat, and my pumpkin and potato plants are littered with holes.
Those with more gardening experience than me … do my plants have any hope of survival??
I am going to eat away my sorrows through chocolate!
p.s. I have NO MORE BLOOMS ON ANY OF MY FLOWERS

As circumstances would have it my Auntie Lynn came through Calgary with her family. I was so excited when they were able to take some time to swing by our place. It may have been short, but I loved seeing them and still can’t believe how tall her girls are!!! WOW!
Justin was able to bless our sweet baby boy in church and it was such a special experience. He was blessed with the love of those who care about him. He was blessed with strength, faith, and the ability to do all that Heavenly Father has in store for him. He was blessed that he would be a happy boy who has a love of his family. Landon was blessed to have the ability to follow the promptings of the spirit in his life. He was blessed to know the love our Heavenly Father has for him. He was blessed with strength, a strong body so he can serve a mission, and to be sealed in the temple to his wife. He was blessed to be an example to all those around him. He was blessed to be a helper to his older brother (Justin choked up when he said this). He was blessed to know that many people care deeply for him. He was blessed to be an example to others with his testimony, and to have the spirit with him to have the knowledge to know the Lords plans for his life.
What a special boy we have!!!
Afterwards we had a luncheon at our house. There were 58 people in our home and I LOVED it!! I took a ton of pictures, but could only include a couple of them.

When Evan was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy my Aunt called me and said that that is what my Uncle Nick had. I was still quite young when he died of lung cancer and didn’t ever know why he was in a wheel chair. It actually never mattered to me, he was my Uncle Nick and I loved him! As an adult who has a child that has Spinal Muscular Atrophy it obviously means a lot! I had a lot of questions for my Aunt Fara when we saw her 2 days earlier. She came to Landon’s blessing and brought a picture of my Uncle Nick for Evan. I was more than touched!! Later that night, at bedtime, I showed Evan the picture and told him the story of my Uncle Nick. Part of the conversation went like this:
Me: “Do you see what Uncle Nick is sitting in?”
Evan: “A wheelchair”
Me: “Do you know why Uncle Nick had a wheelchair?”
Evan: he cocks his head, with his oh so cute questioning look

How to manage your relationship conflicts with your ex love partner for a successful making up relationship instantly?
Dealing with Conflict
People have varying degrees of comfort with conflict. Some prefer avoiding it at all costs. Unfortunately, those costs tend to increase the longer issues are left unaddressed. Therefore, learning how to manage and resolve conflict is to your benefit. When dealing with conflict:
Treat it as normal and expected. Conflict need not be catastrophic or personal. Conflict is simply part of being human. Deal with issues as they arise. Avoiding conflict makes situations worse. Time does not resolve matters. Instead, it decreases the chance of a positive outcome. Attempt to understand the other person’s point of view. Dismissing the other’s views, assigning blame, and exclusive focus on your own perspective are all counterproductive. Don’t judge emotions. No one’s feelings are more or less “right” than the others. Emotions reflect a valid perspective of an individual. Even if you don’t understand it, acknowledge the other person’s reaction as important.
Focus on the behaviour, situation or problem area without attacking the person involved. Do not assume your values or beliefs are “right.” They reflect a view of the world from your unique perspective. Respecting another’s viewpoint as equally valuable opens an opportunity for learning and growth. Dealing with conflict does not need to be dreaded or feared. Interpersonal conflict is a natural component of human interaction. In fact, if the problem is the object of focus versus the people involved, disagreements can generate new ideas and growth. Dealing with issues as they occur, acknowledging the other party’s feelings and perspective, and avoiding judgment or blame further increase the chance of productive conflict resolution.
Conflict Resolution
When someone does something we do not like, we tend to focus on what they did wrong. We judge. We criticize. We point out what we deem to be their faults. The person, in turn, feels hurt or angry. The conflict escalates and distance occurs. If conflict resolution is your goal, this is not the way to go about it.
Conflict in relationships does not have to follow the above scenario. A common mistake is made by thinking blame needs to be assigned to someone. You do not have to prove who did what wrong. This is a lose – lose way to approach interpersonal conflict.
Instead, the way to deal with conflict in relationships is to express your reaction without blaming it on the other person. Focus on what you thought, how you felt, what happened from your perspective. You are not to make assumptions about why the person did what they did. You are not to hand over responsibility for your emotions, reactions, fears, behaviours, etc. Simply provide an explanation of your experience.
The other person then has the opportunity to respond to your concerns – instead of having to defend him/her from your accusations. The quickest way to deal with conflict is to avoid blame or judgment. Simply explain your experience to your partner. Your goal is to share your emotions and worries, not to decide who is bad. Challenge yourself to not view your partner’s behaviour as “wrong.” While it may be displeasing to you, this does not make one person right and the other one wrong. Furthermore, he/she is not responsible for your reaction. Your feelings are important and should be communicated in this way so your partner can hear you.
He/she may not give you a great response at first. A defensive reaction is normal, not a sign the person does not care. Do not give up or fall into old patterns of arguing. Instead, repeat this process until he/she hears you. Indeed, life is short. Don’t let another day go by without taking a chance on happiness. You will never know until you try, so remember to make a move today. It can change or affect the rest of your life, therefore, at the very least, you can try to come out something for your ex love partner during your weekend plans. With a little practice, perseverance and patience, I believe that your relationship could be enhanced with the tips that I have shared earlier. The word friend doesn’t mean much on its own, although adding a prefix can change its entire meaning. A girl friend makes you think about anniversaries, dating and sex, while a best friend makes you think of fun, comfort and a shoulder to lean on. Can the two be combined?

Of course, your long-term girlfriend is likely to become your best friend, but what about when your best friend becomes your girlfriend? She has always been one of the guys, the girl you could hang out with even if you just crawled out of bed wearing a ripped, worn-out t-shirt (the one your ex-girlfriend always told you to throw out).
She complains to you about menstrual cramps and you don’t cringe. You tell her openly about what you had to do the other night before bed after your date left abruptly without allowing the evening to progress fully and she confesses that she had to do the same thing because her boyfriend has mono.
One night you see her sexily clad and realize that you’re unable to stop thinking about her. You begin to see her in a different light. # Cons You know what she likes and how to please her: although this could be a major bonus, the fact that you’d be skipping the intriguing part of discovery may breed boredom quickly.
# You’re taking a big risk: you have a lot to lose in the way of friendship. You can’t imagine her not being a part of your life.
# You may not be compatible in every area: being best friends with someone doesn’t mean you will be compatible intimately. Besides, you’d lose the person who anxiously listened to your complaints about loser dates. Who are you going to complain to about her ?
As you can see, there are more pros than cons, but the cons carry more weight that may lead to the collapse of a wonderful friendship. You may think you know everything about her, and perhaps you do as a friend , but when she becomes your girlfriend, everything changes.

While there are great risks involved by confessing, dishonesty may endanger the friendship if you behave awkwardly because of those newly discovered feelings. Bashing every guy she wants to date, and telling her you hate when she wears those tight little outfits when she goes out will not bring you two closer.
You may wind up being the best thing that ever happened to her. Don’t ignore these feelings because they may resurface if you try to sweep them under the carpet. Sit down, weigh the pros and cons, and remember that the risks involved could be worth it. You will never know what you could be missing out on if you don’t consider giving it a try.
